Welcome to St Mary’s RC Primary School – A Place Where Every Child’s Journey Matters
At St Mary’s, we offer a nurturing and inclusive school community where every child is supported to live, learn, and grow in God’s love, right in the heart of Richmond.
We believe that every child is unique and that no two educational journeys are the same. With this in mind, our school is proud to be both trauma-informed and inclusive, ensuring that we are equipped to meet the diverse needs of all learners, regardless of ability, background, gender, race or religion.
Our mission is to provide a high-quality, holistic education that recognises and celebrates the individuality of every child. Academic achievement is important, but we know that true development goes beyond the classroom. That’s why we focus on educating the whole child, fostering emotional well-being, creativity, resilience and a lifelong love of learning.
At St Mary’s, we have designed a curriculum tailored specifically to our children. It is broad, balanced and engaging, enabling each child to flourish, take pride in their learning and grow into responsible, compassionate citizens. We teach children to reflect on their choices and understand how their actions affect themselves and those around them.
Our dedicated staff team is passionate about delivering excellent teaching while supporting the emotional and social needs of every child. All members of our team have high expectations and are committed to creating a safe, caring and inspiring environment. We are also supported by an active Local Governing Body and a strong parent community.
As part of Nicolas Postgate Catholic Academy Trust (NPCAT), we benefit from collaboration with other schools, particularly St Francis Xavier School (SFX), to ensure smooth transitions and a consistent approach to learning and well-being from primary through to secondary education.
As part of our commitment to our children and community, we offer an amazing sports programme that promotes teamwork, resilience, and physical well-being, alongside an increasingly vibrant music offer that gives children the chance to explore their creativity, build confidence and express themselves through singing, instruments and performance. These enriching opportunities help all our children to feel connected, supported and fully included in school life.
At St Mary’s, we believe that well-being is not only foundational to emotional and mental health but also essential for academic success. When children, parents and staff feel safe, valued and supported, they thrive.
Together with parents, carers and our Parish, we walk alongside each child on their journey, celebrating their strengths, supporting their challenges and helping them become the best version of themselves.
St Mary’s is more than a school—it’s a community where every child’s journey is respected, supported, and celebrated.
